Fleet Raider

The wind decides the fight before the guns do.

In development

Fleet Raider is a pirate roguelite for phones, set in the Caribbean of the 1710s. You sail out of Nassau with a small hull and a worse crew, raise whatever the sea offers, and decide — every time — whether the prize in front of you is worth the planks it will cost.

There is no grinding back to where you were. A voyage ends when you retire rich, or when it ends.

What the game is about

The weather gauge

Ships sail a real polar. Point too close to the wind and your sails stop drawing; hold the wind and you choose the range. Most fights are decided by who had the better air, not the heavier broadside.

Take her, don't sink her

A sunken ship carries her cargo down with her. The money is in making her strike her colours — grape across her deck, your marines at her rail, and a captain who would rather live than be brave.

Two phones, one sea

Duel a friend on the next phone. You each pick a captain and a hull, sail the same water, and fight it out — the same wind, the same guns, no advantage either of you did not choose. One short code joins the two ships.

Sign the articles

Leave your advantages ashore before you sail and your share of the final prize grows. Break your word at sea and that clause is struck. The choice is made when it is cheap and paid when it is not.

Where it is

Fleet Raider is playable and in private testing on iOS. An Android test build is being prepared. There is no release date yet, and there will not be one until the game is worth the download.
